Kindergarten

Arrival:

When kindergarten students arrive at the school, they can enter the school yard from the kinder gate at the east end of the school onto the side kinder yard.  If families would like to drop off at the Ponton gate, please let the staff at the gate know your child is a kinder student so they can ensure they get over to the kinder yard.

Dismissal:

Kindergarten students require a safe hand off to approved family and caregivers. All kindergarten students will be dismissed from the kinder gate, unless you have arranged with your child’s educator to have your child picked up at the Ponton gate.

Primary

Arrival:

When primary students arrive at the school, they can enter the yard through the Ponton gate or the Yeomans gate. If primary students arrive through the Yeomans gate, please know they need to walk independently over to the primary yard.

Dismissal:

Primary students (grade 1-3) require a safe hand off to approved family and caregivers. All primary students will be dismissed from the Ponton gate, unless you have arranged with your child’s teacher to have your child picked up at another gate.  If a primary student is exiting through the Yeomans or Ritchie gates, there will be staff there to do a safe hand off, but know, they need to walk independently across the junior yard. 

If a primary student has a sibling in kindergarten that is being picked up at the front of the school, please connect with your child’s teacher to arrange for your child to be picked up at the front of the school so you only have one location for pick up.

Junior

Arrival:

Junior students can enter the yard through the Ponton gate, Yeomans gate, or Ritchie gate.

Dismissal:

Junior students do not require a hand off to a family or caregiver, therefore please communicate with your child’s teacher if you are picking up your child and they DO NOT have permission to walk home by themselves. We can then ensure your child waits with a staff member until you arrive. Junior classes line up and are dismissed one class at a time from the tarmac at the dismissal bell. Junior students will be dismissed to the same gate that they arrive at school, unless you have arranged with your child’s teacher to have your child exit from another gate at the end of the day.

Buses

Buses drop off and pick up students at the front of the school.

Arrival:

Educational assistants meet buses as they arrive at the school and support students as they walk to their assigned supervised yards in the morning.

Dismissal:

K-3 students going home on buses will come to the front foyer as their class exits for dismissal. Staff will lead them outside as their designated bus arrives and supervises until the bus is loaded and ready to leave.
